As winter sets in, we will share some of our State Street wintertime photos. This week's picture was taken from in front of the old bank on the corner of State and Elm, looking west. The first building is the post office that sat next to Jakie Berlin's store. Today you can see Clyde Berry patiently waiting for the next customer coming in to get his ears lowered.
The old Model T does not look to be going anywhere soon. The next building is Dr. Carpenter's. The man shoveling a pathway for his first patient, we were told, is the doctor himself.
The next building is Chaney's Funeral Home and the white building is Wright's Nursery.
