1977 - Onaway Snow and Decorations From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook November 30, 2017

  
CAPTION: The Onaway Area Chamber of Commerce reminded all area business establishments
that the judging of the Christmas decoration contest was fast approaching. The deadline
was Dec. 2, 1977.  The object of the contest was to make Onaway sparkle with more than
snow.  In other Onaway News, Thanksgiving 1977 found the area covered with almost a foot
a snow.  Skiers rejoiced that 13 ski lodges around the state were able to expand their
operations for the holiday weekend.  Willard Schaedig of the Presque Isle County Road
Commission said it was an expensive weekend.  Snow accumulated to 11-15 inch depths 
around the county.
