CAPTION: During National Fire Prevention week, Onaway Fire departmant chief Ray Hitchcock (pictured) requested that people calling in to report a fire remain calm as possible and stay on the phone until given full directions. He said lives can be lost and a home destroyed if firefighters waste valuable time determining the location. In other Onaway news, 1976 homecoming queen Lee Ann Smith was getting ready to crown the 1977 queen during halftime festivities at the homecoming game against Sault Ste. Marie...the Onaway Area Community Schools board of education approved a boxing program on the condition that it did not interfere with any other sports' programs at the school.
