CAPTION: The Front page of the Sept. 1, 1966 Onaway News had a list of the young men in the county who left for Detroit for pre-induction physical examinations for the Armed Forces. The men included Michael K. Swan, Larry LaLonde, Richard Krajnik, Eugene Berant, Henry Szatkowski, Donald Widajewski, Gerald Smith, David Warwick, Monroe Parr, Dennis Kuznicki, Florian Smith, Bernard Boyk, Thomas Gilbertson, Randal Schuler, Benedict Chojnacki, Rapheal Misiak, George Sytek, Leslie Nowicki, Kenneth Kortman, Mark Konieczny and Victor Garms. In other Onaway News, Eleanor Lee Stocking returned from a three-month study trip in Europe with National English Teachers Group. She taught at Interlochen Music Academy. Above, is an ad from August 1966.
