Caption #1: A view of State Street looking west.
width="800"
This week's picture is looking west on State Street from between First and Second streets.
The first building on the right is the Clark Hotel, which later became the Presque Isle Hotel. The Onaway Outlook is the next building, that has had many handles but still has Onaway Outlook on its face near the top.
The next building is Hudson Bonner Gas Station and Repair. A good eye can see the gas pump on the curb.
On the left side of the street we have the Fox & Steel 5 and 10 Cent Store, that at one time was called the "Bucket of Blood" and is now the Northland Bar. Next is Haskin's Meats and Groceries, that was at one time Harman's Store. Most of you remember it as Grainger's and it is now the Flower Box.
The next building was Charlie Rosciam's Barbershop.
Again we see the neat little piles of gravel down the middle of the road, and the beautiful shade trees we once had.
