CAPTION: The STR. John G. Munson, flagship of the Great Lakes fleet of self-unloaders, arrived at the Port of Calcite handsomely adorned in Bicentennial colors. Formerly, 666 feet long, the Munson was 768 feet long after being lengthened 102 feet. This front page photo appeared 40 years ago this week.
