Steve Waite Is a National Merit Semi-Finalist...and...Onaway Football Team Loses to Gaylord From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook September 19, 2019

  
CAPTION: Steve Waite, a senior at Onaway High School, was named one of the nation's
most intellectually able students.  National Merit Scholarship Corporation of Evanston, 
Illinois, listed him among the 15,000 semi-finalists who was to compete for 4,300 merit
scholarships to be awarded in the spring.  In other Onaway news, the Cardinals' football
team lost to Gaylord, 34-0.  The Blue Devils were considered one of the best teams in 
the state.
