CAPTION: This was the photo on the front page 50 years ago for the trout opener. The captain stated, " Last fisherman out in 1965 - first in 1966." It was Carl Bruning Sr. of Rogers City fishing along the Ocqueoc River below the U.S.-23 bridge. He was enjoying a hot cup of coffee on a cold April morning.
