- HALLEADS posted by
Susan (Hallead) Smit on
Thursday, January 2, 1997
- My line of HALLEADS was believed to be the only small group in the
United States. Only recently have we learned that the original two Halleads
were brothers (cousins?) who immigrated here from Europe (1800's?). Their
orinal names were believed to be Hallhead. The Michigan Halleads are from
the other brother (cousin). Please, could anyone steer me in the right
direction and link me up to a Hallead genealogist? Many many thanks -- Susan

- GROUT,
ROUNDS posted by
John Chalkley on Monday,
January 13, 1997
- I'm looking for any information about Lyrena (GROUT) ROUNDS. She was
married to Jeremia ROUNDS 1794-1871. Lyrena was the youngest of 5 kids of
Ferdinand GROUT, wife's name unknown. Lyrena had 4 brothers: John C. Grout,
Anson H. Grout, Willard W. Grout and George C. Grout. My grandfather was
Otto Rounds born & raised in Lakeside, Ontario died July 1987. His
Grand-father was Spafford Rounds born 1824 son of Jerimia and Lyrena Rounds.
Lyrena died approximately 1871 somewhere in Michigan. She was a United
Empire Loyalist and moved to Ontario. Her brothers Willard & Anson were
married in Ontario but were not part of the 1850 Census. It is thought that
the Grout's moved back to Michigan and after Jeremia's death that Lyrena
moved to Michigan to be with her brothers and their families. My mother is
searching for any information about Lyrena's ancestors & the whereabouts of
her burial site.

- BAILEY posted by
Susie Martin-Rott on
Wednesday, January 29, 1997
- Seeking information on parents of James Clifford BAILEY b. 06 Jan 1895
in Michigan. By 1900 the family was living in Seneca Falls, Seneca, NY. The
only clue we have as to his parents is that his mother was listed with his
family on the 1900 NY Census. The first name however was almost illegible
but appeared to be "Josephia"..she would have been born in approx 1864 in
Michigan according to the 1900 NY Census. Her father was listed as having
been born in France and her mother in Canada (noted that the mother spoke
English). Anyone researching BAILEY recognize this obscure little group?
