- My COWELL ancestors resided in New Haven Twp and Bennington Twp. in
Shiawassee Co. My ggg granfather John COWELL b.4/22/1825 in Ohio d.
4/17/1864 in Andersonville Prison in Georgia. He married Margaret Dorothy
TAPKING 11/14/1844. Thier children: Andrew COWELL 10/1/1846- 8/9/1913,
Juniata COWELL 2/22/1848-1866, Mary COWELL 2/22/1852-12/1/1932, Edward
COWELL 3/8/1855-, 3/26/1924, Henry Franklin COWELL 8/17/1858-10/18/1951 and
Eugene COWELL 3/18/1863-1/19/1950. Andrew COWELL married Anna L. DUMOND
1857-1930. They married in 1877. Their daughter Grace E. COWELL 1878-
10/24/1919 was my g grandmother. Grace resided in New Haven Twp. all her
short life of 31 yrs. Would like to hear from anyone related to or

- I am looking for information on the families of Robert SHANNON born 1793
in New York and Elizabeth VEDER born 1798 in New York. They originally lived
in Onondage Co, New York before coming to Hillsdale Co around 1850. They
lived in Cambria, Reiding, and Woodbridge Townships. I am a descendant of
Robert J. Shannon, the 9th child of this family. The other children are
Almire, who married Amos BARTHLOMEW, CAroline, who married WIlliam PATTON,
Sarah Jane, who married Thomas O-HANLON, Martha , who maried Daniel WIGENT,

- I am looking for information on the ERSKINE (Erskin, Ersking) family.
Mary "Polly" DAVIS was the wife of Howard F. ERSKING. They were married in
Steuben Co., New York. Howard is buried in Hudson, Michigan next to his son
DeWitt. Mary is buried in Gratiot Co. I believe that her son Erastus was
living in Gratiot Co at the time of her death. Other children of Howard and
Mary are Joseph ERSKINE (1821-23 May 1864), married to Elizabeth BROUGHTON,
Elizabeth ERSKINE (abt 1826-) m. James LYONS, John ERSKINE (abt 1828-) m.
Margaret MATTESON, Sarah Ann ERSKINE (4 Feb 1831-28 Apr 1898) m. Elisha
Spencer Whitney, Catherine Jane ERSKINE (3 May 1832-12 Mar 1914) m. Wm
Raymond, Dewitt H. ERSKINE (abt 1834-23 Oct 1877) m. Kate JOYCE, Erastus
ERSKINE (4 Mar 1839-11 Mar 1910) m. Harriet JOYCE. Many of these children
and their spouses are buied in the Richland Township Cemetery, (Hemlock)

in Lenoir, NC. She is the daughter of the late Jerry Ray BRYANT and Patsy
Sue (Moore) BRYANT. Anyone with information on Kimberly Hope BRYANT or Patsy
Sue (Moore) BRYANT, please contact me. Kimberly lives in Michigan in an
unknown county as does her mother. The last known residence of Kimberly was
Westlands, MI. but she moved in 1996. As of 1996 she wasn't married, but her
mother, to my knowledge, remarried in the late 1970's or early 1980's to a

- subject: FEELY - Michigan after 1860. Looking for descendants of James
and Ann FEELY. Ann was born about 1828 in St. Lawrence Co., New York. Her
maiden name was BRENNAN though the family also used BRINNING. Ann's mother's
will of 1863 lists her as living in "Michigan, particular address unknown"
They had at least two children that were born in New York State, Ellen
FEELY, born about 1856 and Thomas FEELY born June 14, 1858. Both were
baptized in St Patrick's Catholic Church Hogansburg, St. Lawrence Co. NY.

Middleville, 1874. (My great grandfather) George Clementine left Middleville
for Cadillac (Wexford Co.) when he was 19 and began work with the

1840 Michigan Census: Austin Wright, 32 Joh BAR (Johnston Twp., Barrien
County) What city is Johnston Twp. in? I don't know when he first arrived in
Barrien County. He was born around 1802 in Vermont according to other census
information and was married to Lydia JONES, Feb. 3, 1841, (I do not know
where) and had moved on to Litchfield, Hillsdale County, MI by 1842 where a
