"The Division of Vital Records and Health Statistics has provided Internet access to information from archived death records through the Genealogical Death Indexing System (GENDIS). This system allows the user to search for records using key pieces of information such as the decedent's name, father's last name, and year of death."

Genealogy Researchers Welcome - Tuesday thru Friday - 8 am to 4:30 pm

Birth, Death & Marriage Records: 1867 to present
Divorce: 1898 to present
Naturalization: 1850 to 1964
Civil records: 1831 to present
Criminal Records: 1882 to present

  • Call ahead for an appointment to reserve the room. Space allows for two to four genealogists at one time.
  • NO CHILDREN under the age of 12 are allowed.
  • Driver's License required for identification purposes.
  • Copy of death certificate required in order to obtain a birth certificate
  • Staff will research birth records if over 110 years old
