She was born 11 April 1908 in LaGrange, a daughter of George W and Enola (Wert) Maxwell. On 9 June 1927, she married Clarence Maystead, in Burr Oak. He preceded her in death. She was a Sturgis-Burr Oak-LaGrange resident all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burr Oak Home Club. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and crocheting. Surviving are one son, Allen Maystead, Centreville; three daughters, Mrs Delbert (Thelma) Fiebelkorn, Burr Oak, Mrs Alice Verspelt, Mishawaka, Indiana, and Mrs Marelee Hawver, Sturgis; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Frank (Hazel) Nofsinger, Sturgis, and Mrs Wilma Perry, Burr Oak. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Bertha Gable, Lucille Jones and Ethel Fennell; and two brothers, Harry Maxwell and Ledger Maxwell. The services were officiated by Rev Alan Mettler, Nashville Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorial directed to the American heart Association of Michigan or the Cancer Society of Michigan.

He was born 18 January 1940, in Quincy, a son of Joseph and Mary (March) Michielsen. On 18 September 1961, he married Glenna Barkman, in Centreville. He was a Burr Oak resident since 1961. He was a machinist and was employed at G.D.L. Machine Shop and he also had worked at Doerr Products, Burr Oak. He enjoyed being with his family, hunting and watching western movies. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jess Michielsen and Joey Michielsen, both of Burr Oak; two daughters, Jan Michielsen, Burr Oak, and Mrs Keith (Jill) Counter, Centreville; five grandchildren, Jesse Michielsen, Amanda Michielsen, Colleen Michielsen and Joey Michielsen II, all of Burr Oak, and Johnathan Counter, Centreville; his mother, Mary Michielsen, Burr Oak; three brothers, David Michielsen, Battle Creek, Stanley Michielsen, East Leroy, and William Michielsen, Tekonsha; and two sisters, Mrs Larry (Rosemary) Casey and Mrs Arthur (Marcia) Tobey, both of Tekonsha. He was preceded in death by his father in 1982; one daughter, June Michielsen, in 1972; and one sister, Mrs Dean (Carol) Copas, in 1987. Services were are the Rosenberg-Schipper Funeral Home, Sturgis, the Rev Terry Keefer, St Paul's Lutheran Church, Colon, officiating. Burial will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

She also was a homemaker and a member of the Brighton Chapel Church, Brighton, MI. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs John (JaNean) Houck of Howe; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Claudia Stoltz of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Jack Mizner. No visitation. Graveside services and burial at Burr Oak Cemetery with the Rev John Long officiating. Memorials were directed to the family

She had lived at her current address since April 1930, coming from Bronson. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1915 and furthered her education at the Kalamazoo Normal College where she received her teaching degree. She had taught school two years at the Tobey Country School, Burr Oak Township, and also was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bronson Baptist Church, and the Burr Oak Home Club. She had served several years as a Burr Oak 4-H Leader. Surviving are one daughter, Maxine M Mock, Burr Oak; two sons, Clare A Mock and Earl J Mock, both of Burr Oak; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. Services were at the Schipper Funeral Home, Colon with David J Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Sturgis Home Health Care or the charity of one's choice.

He was born 9 March 1917, in Detroit, a son of Lester A and Eloda May (Browning) Nelson. On 11 June 1938, he married Doris M Bunnell in Sturgis, He made his home in Sturgis for the past 58 years, since moving here from Detroit. A veteran of WWII, he served in Germany and received a Purple Heart for injuries received in action. He was employed by the National Carbon Coated Paper Company and was foreman of the press room when he retired in 1969. Then he was employed for Holiday Inn as a desk clerk for eight years. In 1976 he was voted "Mr Hospitality" and was honored by being in the Michigan Week Parade. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the Jack Johnston D.A.V. Chapter #88 of Sturgis, and served for seven years as an advisor for Junior Achievement. Surviving are his wife, one son, Irvin G Nelson of Burr Oak; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Jack Sears of Mendon and Kathleen and Richard Yeckley of Sturgis; five grandchildren, Jack L Sears, Jr of Mendon, Cynthia Brundige of Vicksburg, Matthew Sears of Three Rivers, Kimberlee Hart of Burr Oak, Jeremy Nelson of Burr Oak; 12 great- grandchildren; one half brother, Lester A Nelson Jr of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Loretta May; and two brothers, Robert A. and James Nelson. Services were at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Hoehner and the Rev Cal Kolzow officiating. Burial will be in Burr Oak Cemetery with full military honors by the Capt. John J Kelley V.F.W. Post #1335
