Alpena, MICH, Wednesday, June 21, 1905 O.E.S Organinzed Alpena Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, the ladies branch of the masonci fraternity, was organized in this city Firday night, by Worthy Grand Patron H.S. Maynord, of Charlotte, and the new society commencedits career with some 30 members. The following officers were selected: Worthy Matron- Annia F. Bulkley Worthy Patron- C.J. Crisman Associate Matron- Alice M. Dunivan Conductress- Harriet Holmes. Assit. Conductress- Loreno Fraser Secretary- C.M. Johnson Treasurer- Sarah B. Field Ada- Sarah LeRoy Ruth- Leonora Johnson Esther- Emma Carr Martha- Kate Cameron Eleda- Alberta Tullan Warden- Flora A. Hamill Sentinel- Richard McConnell Chaplain- Elizabeth Comfort Marshal- Julia Wilcox After the work was completed, a repast was served, followed by a social session. While the O.E.S. is a ladies society, yet men, who are Mason, may join provided the ladies don black ball them.
