Detroit & Mackinaw Railway

Detroit & Mackinaw Railway

An example railroad pass from the Detroit, Bay City and Alpena Railroad, which reorganized on December 31, 1894 as the Detroit and Mackinac Railway. This particular pass was issued to Mr. E. R. Beardsley, the Secretary and Treasurer of the Hartford and Connecticut Western Railroad.

Since the Detroit & Mackinaw Railway Historical Society does such a good job of covering the entire railway, Alpena County GenWeb will only focus on D&M's history in Alpena County.

The much bigger railroad in Alpena, it took care of the main depot in town.
