William DeLancy Wylie son of Henry Clark Wylie and Mary Avery was born in Lebanon NY on Sept 30,1846. Moved to Sparta, Mi with his family in 1846, Along with the families of William Moseley Wylie( also a Antrim resident) and Edward Huntington Wylie (who eventually moved to Muskegon and became a Judge).

William D married Annie M Sleeper on 3-4-1866 in Sparta Mi and they moved to Rockery in Jordan Twp in Antrim County MI. about 1880 with their family as listed below. William D was also a member of Co. A Mich Cavalry while in Sparta.

Ernest A Wylie b.5-31-1867 Tyrone Kent Co Mi. Nothing more is known about Ernest at this time, still searching.

Ira C (possibly L) Wylie b.6-30-1872 Tyrone Twp Kent Cty MI. Ira died in an accidental earth fall while working in a brick yard in Torch Lake Twp when he was 19 yrs old on 7-22-1891 Also Buried in Rockery Cem.

Clyde A Wylie b. 1876 Tyrone Twp Kent Cty MI.
+ Married Tula Lancaster on 12-25-1901 in Central Lake Mi Clyde a Teacher Central Lake 25 yrs old and Tula 18 of Central Lake born Kalkaska

Child Ira T Wylie b.3-05-1903

Hurbert Wylie was 6 yrs and son of William D living in Chestonia in the 1880 census. So born sometime around 1874. This is the only place Hurbert shows up therefore I believe it may be an error but included for general information for now.

Mary Emily Wylie b 1879 Tyrone Twp Kent Cty MI died 1968. She Married Henry Hyler Whitney in Jordan Twp 10-14-1899 22 yrs old a Farmer from Banks Twp born Ottawa County. She died circa 1968. Henry d. 1946 Emily buried in Lakeview Cemetery.

There is a good sized Whitney family which is not included here and I have some of the data.

Sylvia Wylie ?? During a visit to Rockery Cemetery Charles and Mary Wattson found a stone with “Sylvia” in the Wylie area. This could be Sylvia b 3-11-1883 and died the next day 3-12.

The 1870 Census of Tyrone Cty shows William D. and Annie living in Sparta with Ernest 3 yrs old. The 1880 census Sparta Village page 20 shows William D 33yr old Carpenter, Annie M Wife 33 yrs old, Ernest 13 yrs old, Ira 3 yrs old, Clyde 4yrs old, Mary 1yr old.

The 1910 Antrim County Census shows Annie M Wylie Head 64 yrs old b. New Hampshire-Father and Mother b. New Hampshire.I am still searching to complete this family tree and will add as it becomes available. April 23, 2003.
