Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, April 19. 200l Amos Harris, 8l, of Harrison and formerly of Midland, died Sunday afternoon, April 15, 200l, at his home. He was born on January 22, 1920 in Fenton, son of the late George and Lavina (Frazer) Harris. He married the former Ruth E. Allen on July 18, 1942 in Midland. Amos was employed with The Dow Chemical Company as an operator, retiring in 1975 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Harrison Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had enjoyed farming, fishing, and traveling. Surviving in addition to his wife Ruth, are his three sons and three daughters and their Spouses: Carlyn and Albert Hilts of Midland, Neva and Harlie Stuhr of Tawas, Zoe Ann Robson of Caro, Robert and Dana Harris of Onalaska, Wisconsin, David and Dorothy Harris, Russell and Pat Harris, all of Flint; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Mr. Harris was precdeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will take place at one pm Thursday, April 19, 200l from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler St., Midland. Burial will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Harris' family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 - 8:30 pm and on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Harris family.
