Rachel Fosgett, 93 of Oswego, Il, (formerly of Harrison, Mi) passed away
Monday May 31, 1999 at Sunrise Hillside Center, Yorkville, Il.  She was
born on January 9, 1906 in Oswego, Il. the daughter of Allen and Sophia
(Parkhurst) Woolley.  Rachel graduated from Millikin University,
Decatur, Il in 1927.
     She married Wayne Fosgett on August 19, 1931.  She taught Home
Economics in Harrison, Mi. where she met her husband.  They lived in
Harrison, Cadillac and Owosso, Mi. before moving to Oswego in 1948.
After her husband's death in 1960, she returned to Harrison to teach at
Harrison High School and retiring in 1969.  Rachael was a member of the
Oswego Presbyterian Church.  She was an excellent seamstress and had
made over 300 little dresses for a mission project for the Caywood
Presbyterian Church in Caywood, Ky.  She was 50 plus year member of the
Eastern Star currently with the Lorraine Chapter in Oswego, a member of
the Michigan RetiredTeachers Association and a charter member of the
Friendly Neighbors Club.  Rachael was an avid reader and always seemed
to have a book in hand.  She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan!
     Survivors include three daughters Eleanor (Brad) Warren of Aurora,
Il.; Elaine (George) Hettrich of Oswego, Il. and Audrey (Jim) Fechner of
North  Aurora, Il; one son, David (Joy) Fosgett of Riverside, Ca. 
Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews also survive her.
     Her parents, her husband Wayne, five sisters and one brother
preceded her in death.
     Services were held on Friday, June 4, 1999 at the Oswego
Presbyterian Church with interment at Lincoln Memorial Park, Oswego, Il.
