Obituaries from the Clare County, Cleaver, Sepember 2, 1999

Mary Jean Roth, 73, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, August 25,
1999 in Harrison.  Mary Jean was born in Flint, Michigan, on January 8,
1926, the daughter of Jimmy and Emily (Darling) Vertner.
    Mrs. Roth had resided in the Harrison area most of her life.  She
moved to Harrison from Flint when she was eleven years old.  Mary Jean
Vertner was united in marriage to David (Ernie) E. Roth on July 19, 1942
in Harrison.  She was employed by the State Savings Bank (Mid-Michigan
Bank, First of America Bank) of Harrison from 1958 until her retirement
as Vice President of operations in 1988; after 30 years of employment,
she & her husband David (Ernie) wintered in Florida.  Mary Jean enjoyed
playing Bridge, Bowling and Golfing.
     Surviving are her husband Ernie, of Harrison, her mother, Emily
Shaw of Harrison; a daugher, Bonnie Haskell and husband Gary of Harrison;
two sons, Larry Roth and wife Linda of Midland and James Roth and wife
Cheryl of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildfen, six
great-grandchildren, a sister, Joy Gerrish and husband Ray of Harrison,
plus other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by Father
and a Sister and Brother-in-law, Barbara and Lawson Rodgers.
     A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. 
Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison,
Michigan.
