Obituaries from the Clare Co. Cleaver, Oct. 14, 1999

Curt Steven Schanhals, 40, of Clare, passed away Monday, September 27,
1999, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan.  Curt was born
May 14, 1959 in Saginaw, the son of William and Carmen Arline
(Schlichter) Schanhals.  Mr. Schanhals had resided his entire life in
Clare County. 
     Surviving are his former wife and companion, Debbie Schanhals of
Clare, a daugher, Jessica Schanhals, also of Clare, three brothers, Ward
Schanhals anf wife Norma of Central Lake, Tom Schanhals and wife Pam of
Harrison and Jerry Schanhals and wife Terry of Anchorage, Alaska, plus
other relatives and friends.  Curt was preceded by his parents.
     Memorial services were held Thursday, September 30, 1999, at 2:00
pm from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastor Doug Blackwell of
the First Baptist Church, Clare, officiating.  Interment was in the
Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison, Michigan.
