Broka, 90, of Beaverton, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at her daughter's home in Roscommon, following a long illness. Born April 6, 1910 in Tyler County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Myron "Boody" and Emma Ankrom. She lived in Gladwin County since 1937 and previously live in Kentucky. Mildred married David E. Broka, Jan. 25, 1937 in Catlettsburg, Ky. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Donna and husband Mike Colton of Roscommon and Mary Jo and husband Jackie Holder of Adolphus, Ky.; two granddaughters, Kim and husband Jimmie Spears of Scottsville, Ky., and Jeanie and husband Tinker Kelly of Adolphus, Ky.; two grandsons, Jeremy and Luke Colton, both of Roscommon; three great-grandsons, Derrick and Dustin Taylor of Adolphus, Ky., and Justin Spears of Scottsville, Ky.; and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Lee Broka in 1938. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton. Burial was in the Beaverton Cemetery, Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Michigan.
