Phoebe (Lorkowski) Booms March 10, 1902 - August 4, 1984 Phoebe Booms, 82, Sand Beach Township died Saturday at her residence after a short illness. She was born March 10, 1902 in Sigel Township, daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Grzybowski) Lorkowski. Miss Phoebe Lorkowski and Boniface Zurek were married June 16, 1924 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Smiths Corners. He preceded her in death December 22, 1972. Mrs. Zurek then married Arthur Booms October 4, 1975 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a lifelong resident of Huron County, a parishioner at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Helena, and a member of the church’s altar society. She was a former treasurer of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Altar Society. Surviving are her husband, Arthur; two sons, Robert Zurek, Bad Axe, and Melvin Zurek, Harbor Beach; five daughters, Mrs. Edmund (Jeanette) Guza, and Mrs. Marvin (Phyllis) Kociba, both of Harbor Beach, Mrs, Clemens (Evelyn) Kubacki, Ubly, Mrs. Gerald (Anna Mae) Learman, Filion, and Mrs. James (Margaret) Ritter, Elktons; three stepsons, Earl Booms, Raymond Booms, and Carl Booms, all of Harbor Beach; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Raymond (Rita) Depcinski, Bad Axe, Mrs. Allen (Alice) Depcinski, Cass City, Mrs. Bernard (Violet) Holdwick, Harbor Beach, and Mrs. Harvey (Jane) Learman, Toldeo, Ohio; 80 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Lorkowski, Forestville and Joseph Lorkowski, Harbor Beach, and one sister, Mrs. Clara Mazure, Bad Axe. One brother, Leo Lorkowski, and three sisters, Anastasia Essenmacher, Agnes Essenmacher and Rose Roggenbuck, all preceded her in death. Services were Tuesday at 10”30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Smith Corners. Rev. Ronald LeFleur, pastor of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Helena, officiated with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery.
