George Gerhard Koenders   
July 10, 1900 - January 22, 1979
George G. Koenders – ARMADA – George G. Koenders. 78, of 22855 Center Road, died 
unexpectedly Monday in Mount Clemens General Hospital.  He was born July 10, 
1900, in Ruth.  Formerly of Roscommon and Centerline, he resided in Armada nine 
years.  He married Emma Collin August 18, 1925, in Mount Clemens.  Mr. Koenders 
was a self-employed appliance repairman.  He was a member of St. Mary Mystical 
Rose Catholic Church, Armada; Bishop William Murphy Council 3257, Third Degree 
Knights of Columbus. Warren; and Fourth Degree, St. John Neumann Assembly of 
Utica. 

He is survived by his wife; a son, Roy, Fraser; two daughters, Mrs. William 
(Martha) Behnke, Warren, and Mrs. Otto (Ruth) Bluntzer, Rochester, New York ; 
three sisters, Mrs. Bernadette Patterson and Mrs. Frances Zimmerman, both of 
Florida, and Mrs. Caroline Heilig, Romeo; 16 grandchildren; and 13 
greatgrandchildren.  

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Tiffany-Young Funeral Home. Armada, 
and at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Mystical Rose Church.  The Rev Erwin Bauer, pastor, 
will officiate.  Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.  A 
parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.  The Knights 
of Columbus will recite a rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
