Regina C. (Wojtalewicz) Schmidt
June 29, 1906 - August 31, 1997
Mrs. Regina C. Schmidt, age 91, of Parisville, died Sunday, August 31, 1997, 
at Four Seasons Healthcare Center in Bad Axe.  She was born June 29, 1906 in 
Parisville, Michigan, daughter of the late John and Katherine (Rutkowski) 
Woytalewicz.  She married Alexander Lackowski on September 6, 1926 at St 
Mary's Catholic Church of Parisville.  He preceded her in death on December 
2, 1938.  She married Joseph Schmidt on November 18, 1942 in Detroit by Fr. 
Fulton.  He preceded her in death on December 11, 1959.  She was a graduate 
of St. Mary’s Elementary School.  She was a life-long parishioner of' St. 
Mary’s of Parisville.  She worked at Clements Wire in Minden City for years 
as an assembler.  She was an honorary member of St. Mary’s Rosary Sodality.

Surviving are one daughter, Jeanette Lopez and her husband, Angelo "Al", of 
Washington, MI; three sons, Clarence Lackowski and his wife, Betty, of 
Frankenmuth, Marshall Lackowski and his wife, Mary Ann, of Washington, MI, 
and Alex Lackowski of Bad Axe; one daughter-in-law, Lorraine Lackowski, of 
Parisville; 23 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great-
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son, William Lackowski, on 
July 15, 1993; one sister, Frances Leppek; and three brothers, Alois, Jacob 
and Frank Woytalewicz.  
Funeral services were held Wednesday at St Mary’s Church of Parisville.  Fr. 
James Krasman, O.F.M., pastor of St. Mary’s, officiated.  Burial was in the 
church cemetery.  Arrangements were conducted by the Zinger-Smigielski 
Funeral Home of Ubly.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday September 4,
