Elizabeth M. (Smarch) Visga
July 3, 1905 – July 16, 1963
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Visga 58, of 419 South Allen Road, resident of the area since 
1928, died today in Mercy Hospital after an illness of two weeks.  She was born 
July 3, 1905 in Posen, Mich.  She and Sylvester R. Visga were married October 
4, 1924.  Mrs. Visga was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Christopher 
Church.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs.  Bernice (Eugene S.) 
Melczarczyk, Richmond; Mrs. Irene (Robert J.) Curtis, St. Clair, and Miss Leona 
A. Visga, St. Clair; two sons, Leo J. Visga, Marysville, James L. Visga, St. 
Clair; two sisters, Mrs. Hedvig (Frank P.) Visga. Port Huron, and Mrs. Raymond 
Peyerk, Harbor Beach; five brothers, Stanley Smarch, Detroit, Chester W. 
Smarch, Marysville, Casimer S. Smarch, Marysville, Joseph A. Smarch, Clio, and 
Phillip Smarch, Port Huron, and nine grandchildren.

The remains are in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home where the Rosary will be 
recited at 8 p.m. Thursday.  Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. 
Friday in St. Christopher Catholic Church.  Rev. Joseph P. McElgunn, pastor 
will officiate.  Burial will be in Marysville Riverlawn Cemetery.  Published
