Martin Henry (Smith) Zmich
November 19, 1885 - June 20, 1961
HARBOR BEACH - Martin Smith Zmich, 75, retired Great Lakes sailor, died 
unexpectedly today in Harbor Beach Community Hospital of a heart attack, 
less than two hours after he was admitted.  Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. 
(Mary Ann Peplinski) John Zmich, he was born November 19, 1885, in Sand 
Beach Township, Huron County.  He and Miss Josephine S. Reuter were married 
February 16 1926, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church.  Mr. Zmich 
sailed many years, retiring in 1951 with the rank of chief engineer.  He was 
a member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus.  

Mr. Zmich is survived by his widow, a brother, Roman Zmich, Harbor Beach, 
and four sisters, Miss Frances Zmich, Mrs. Mary Grates and Mrs. Edith 
Gehring, all of Harbor Beach, and Sister M. Adelbert, Detroit. The remains 
are in Joshua Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
