   ELBA V. ACKLEY 
   VERMONTVILLE
  Elba V. Ackley, 90, of Route 1, Vermontville, died May 5 in Pennock Hospital,
Hastings, after a short illness.
  He was born March 20, 1892, in Barry County, the son of Dayton and Kate Darling
Ackley.  He attended Kalamo School and was a farmer in the Vermontville area all his life.
  He was married to the former Veva Henion;  she preceded him in death in Dec.
1980.
  He is survived by three sons:  Dayton of Charlotte, Kenneth of Woodland, and Vern
of Lake Odessa.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one step grand daughter:  
seven great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren:  five great great grandchildren 
and two step great great grandchildren. a son, a brother, and a sister preceded him in death.
  Funeral series were Saturday at 1:30 p..m. from the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel
in Lake Odessa with The Rev. George Speas officiating.  Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.
