Headline:  Pioneer of South Ionia will be Buried in Balcom Cemetery.

The funeral for Mrs. Esther Arnold will be held from the residence of her 
daughter, Mrs. G. C. Arnold, South Ionia, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock.  
Rev. E. E. Branch will officiate, and burial will take place in the Balcom 
cemetery.  Mrs. Arnold was born in Oakland county, July 21, 1832, and came to 
Ionia county about 70 years ago.  Her husband passed away 35 years ago.  Mrs. 
Arnold is survived by her daughter. Mrs. G. C. Fisher and a son, Fred Arnold, 
both of South Ionia, and one granddaughter, Miss Lena Arnold, of Detroit.  She 
was at the time of her death 90 years of age.  She has been confined to her 
bed for seven weeks, but has been in poor health for several years.  Mrs. 
Arnold’s name was erroneously given Friday at Mrs. “Otto.”
