Ionia County News - Thursday, Nov. 1, 1962

Phillip W. Belding, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 24, following an 
illness of two years, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Keith (Gayla) Purdy, 
of Huston, Texas.

Born in Orleans Township, Ionia County, on August 9, 1883, the son of Daniel 
and Susan Belding, he resided in Belding most of his life, where he operated 
a grocery delivery service. Mr. Belding was a member of the Belding Central 
Methodist Church. On June 30, 1908, he was united in marriage to Grace E.. 
Wilson, who survives. 

Mr. and Mrs. Belding celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in June of 
1958.

Surviving besides his wife and daughter are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 29, at 2:00 pm at the Huffman 
Funeral Home, in Belding with the Reverend Ralph Dean of the Belding 
Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the River Ridge Cemetery. `
