Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Sep 1998

Leona M. Bierstetel died Sept. 9, 1998 at age 82.  Born in Dallas Township on 
May 3, 1916, she was the daughter of Tony and Lena (Tilman) Lenneman.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Leona married August 
Bierstetel in 1937 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1997.

She is survived by seven sons, Leon (Annette), Jim (Jane), both of Westphalia 
Ben (Chris), Paul (Kathy), Bob (Susie) all of Fowler, Dave (Judy) and Al (Jan) 
both of Pewamo, two daughters, Shirley (Bill) Halfman of Pewamo and Monica 
(Harry) Hersch of Vanderbilt, 22 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.  In 
addition to her husband, Leona was preceded in death by her sister, Florence 
Luna.
