Excerpts from Belding Obituary

JAMES EUGENE BRONDIGE

Died August 13, 2026-age 84at home surrounded by family.
Born November 3, 1941 In 1966, son of Francis and Gladys Brondige. 
James swore an oath to the Michigan State Police and became known as Trooper 
Brondige.
Married in 1977 to Linda.They built a home defined by devotion and faith.
When he retired, he continued a life of service to his family and to his 
community
He was a stamp collector, enjoying the tales & pieces of history that the stamps 
provided.
Survived by his wife Linda of 49 years, his five children, Robert (Luza) 
Brondige, Sara (Michael)Nelson, Rebecca(Jacob)Christians,Derek (Andrea) 
Brondige, Joseph (Sara) Brondige.
Grandchildren; Joslyne, Chloe, Katelyn, Andrew,Gabriel, Frances, and Eli. 
His siblings; Shirley Brendel & Leroy (Marilyn) Brondige; extended family, 
Kathleen Dickenson, Richard (Lori) Lewis, Sharon Featherly, Desiree Liszewski, 
Cindy(George) Ray, Mary (Kevin) McDaniel, Elizabeth (David) Bombalski and many 
nieces & Nephews friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Francis & Gladys Brondige, granddaughter, eden 
Brondige, his brothers-in-law, David Brendel & Philip Liszewski.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 
6:00-8:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral 
Home, 303 S.Bridge st, Belding,MI.
Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday a.m., August, 18, 2026 at St. Mary, Miriam 
Catholic Church, 9041 Krupp Rd.,Belding,MI 48809.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM in the Parish Hall, with Michigan State Honor 
Guard members paying tribute. Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to 
follow at St.Mary Cemetery,
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a gift to JustWrite,Inc.m 
the nonprofit his daughter and her husband built to champion the reative voices 
and stories of teens, or to the MSP Museum & Learning Center too support youth 
college scholarships for active or retired patrolmen.
