Ionia Sentinel Standard, Apr 1995

Bertha P. Butler, 86, of Belding, formerly of Saranac, died April 10, 1995, at 
Belding Christian Nursing Home.  She was born in Ionia County on Oct. 4, 1908, 
the daughter of Marrion and Nellie Nichols Castle.

She is survived by a niece, Pauline Knepper, of Ionia, and two nephews, LaMar 
Castle of Ionia, and Henry Castle, also of Ionia; and several great nieces and 
nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Kellogg in 1990, and a brother, 
Henry Castle, in 1979.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 22, 
at noon at Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, with the Rev. Brad Center officiating.  
Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.    There will be a two-hour visitation prior 
to services.  A memorial for the Alzheimer’s Foundation has been established, 
in care of Lake Funeral Home.
