She was born October 16, 1893 at Jonesville, La. Her early years were spent at Marion, Ind. She moved to Traverse City with her foster parents, Parmer and Fanny Redding, at the age of nine. Winifred was married to Ivan L. Chance at Traverse City, April 11, 1915. They moved to Ionia in 1925. She had worked at various business places in and about Ionia and was employed by Martin Stout at the West End Grocery at the time of death. She was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal church and College of Regents of the Women of the Moose. Survivors are one son, Donald I. of 931 Hackett street; one daughter, Margaret Louise DeHann of Lowell; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Herman (Mary) Roltsch of Chicago, Ill. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4 at 10 o’clock in the morning at the St. John’s Episcopal church with the Rev. Fr. R. J. Bunday officiating. Interment will be at the Balcom cemetery.
