Caroline B. Coleman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Hoppough, was born in
Canadice, N.Y., February 18, 1848.  She moved with her parents to Otisco when
she was 16 years of age, living here until 1900 when she moved to Albuquerque,
New Mexico, where she made her home until the year 1908 when she moved to
Kinsley, Kansas, which place was her home at the time of her death, which came
June 24, 1925 at Orlando, Florida.  One of a family of ten, she is survived by
two sisters and three brothers.  Her son A.L. Moe, who with his wife were with
her to the end, and whose reciprocal loyalty and fidelity of mother and son can
not be questioned.  One daughter, Lena B. Moe, and a son, Arthur Coleman,
preceded the mother by death several years ago.  Mrs. Coleman was one of the
most womanly women of which any community can boast – ambitious, energetic, and
efficient in a high degree – a home builder, lovable and loyal to her family and
community to the last.  She possessed the embodiment of all that the term
“mother” implies – the highest expression of true womanhood.  She was affiliated
with the Congregational church through life and an active member of that church
at the time of her death in the city of her late home, Kinsley, Kansas.  Funeral
services were held at the home of her sister, Alice Peterson, of Smyrna, Rev.
Ellis officiating.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that she was
buried in Smyrna Cemetery.]
