Ionia County News, 20 Apr 1950

Roger Davarn, 49, well-known Fowler businessman and manager of the Davarn 
Elevator for the past 10 years, passed away at his home there last week 
Thursday at 11:30 a.m.  He had been in ill health for the past five months.  A 
son of James and Mary Davarn, he was born in Pewamo on March 19, 1901.  He 
attended the elementary and high school there and later graduated from Ferris 
Institute.  He managed elevators at Muir and Westphalia before becoming manager 
of the Fowler elevator in 1939.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anne Davarn; three daughters, Shirley, Sally and 
Susan; a brother, William Davarn, of St. Johns, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary 
Long, of Eaton Rapids, Miss Marjorie Davarn, Lansing, and Mrs. Tom Ludwick, 
Pewamo. 

Funeral services were held at holy Trinity Church in Fowler last Monday with 
burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pewamo.
