Excerpts from Portland Obituary

M.Rosemary Davarn

Died Sunday, June 28, 2026-age 100.
Born May 9, 1926 in Carson City, daughter of Dennis & Mary (O'Connor) O'Connell.
She graduated from St.Mary's High School in Carson City in 1944.
Rosemary married Jack Davarn on May 21, 1949, at St.Marys Catholic Church in 
Carson City.
She was a member of the St.Joseph Parish in Pewamo and its Alter Society, for 
over 75 years.
She enjoyed helping at the church & participating with the St.Joseph quilters 
and playing bridge.
In her later years she volunteered at Carson City Hospital.
She was proud of her Irish heritage. 
She liked tending her yard & flower gardens. Green was her favorite color.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack  of 57 years, baby son 
James, her brothers and their wives, tom (Dorothy) O'Connell, Pat (Terry) 
O'Connell & Matt O'Connell, in-laws Bill (Bertha) Davarn & Jim (Jean) Cook.
Survived by her daughter, Mary (Patrick) Murhall, her son, Tom(Lisa) Davarn; 
granddaughters, Catherine (Casey)Schneider &B Libby (Adam) Frizzle, and great-
grandchildren, Greyson & Addi Schneider, Carter Washington, and Graham Frizzle, 
sister-in-law Dee O'Connell & several nieces & nephews.
She lived in the same house in Pewamo for 72 years.
Visitation will be at St.Marys Chapel in Westphalia on July 6, 2026 from 2:00-
7:00 p.m., with rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m..
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Darrel Kempf at 10:30 a.m. 
on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. at St.Charles Catholic Church  in Pewamo, with the 
family receiving visitors one hour before Mass.
Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Pewamo.
