Ionia Sentinel - thursday, Aug. 10, 1893

The funeral of the late Mrs. A. DeKwak was largely attended at the M.E. 
church Monday. The attendance was largely made up of the older class of her 
acquaintances. The services were conducted by Rev. A.P. Moors of Lowell, who 
preached an appropriate sermon. The M.E. choir furnished the music. The 
pall-bearers were Messrs. A.S. Wright, H.A. Rich, H.M. Lewis, John Scott and 
Luther Carpenter. A long procession of mourning friends followed the remains 
to Highland Park, where they were interred. Mr. DeKwak and family have the 
sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement. The officers of the 
Royal Arcanum, of which Mr. DeKwak was a member, attended the service in a 
body, and the council sent a floral piece, a standing harp.
