He was born in Berlin Township October 28, 1872 and had lived at his present residence one year. Prior to that he lived in Ionia three years and 86 years in Berlin Township. He was a farmer and worked 17 years for the former Western Indiana Gravel company, now owned by Ionia County Road Commission. Mr. Doty was the son of Ezra and Esther Doty and was married March 29, 1893 to Lillian Buttermore who died in 1958. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lula Lapo of Berlin Township and Mrs. William Durkee of Ionia; six grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted at Boynton funeral home Saturday at 2 pm with the Rev. Harold Jayne of First Methodist church officiating. Burial will be at Balcom cemetery.
