She was the eldest daughter of ten children. After attending school there she left in May, 1882 at the age of 18 years, with her brother, Edward, to come to Ionia, Michigan, in hopes of seeing their Uncle Edward. After reaching their destination and spending some time with him, she obtained employment and also continued her education. In November, 1891, she was united in marriage to Thomas F. Glostrick, of Ionia township to which union was born seven children: Fred, Frank, Luella, Herbert, Nellie, Robert and Ruth. Nellie, however, preceded her in death. Mrs. Glostrick was a pleasant, ambitious, perspicacious and altruistic person. She was one who was always mercurial and salubrious until a few years ago when asthenia was easily noticed. However, during all her 52 years in the vicinage she was always ready to give advise in the care of the sick and was meticulous in caring for the illness in the home. She was taken ill October 1, 1932 and continued to grow weaker daily until death interceded December 22 at 5:27 a.m. She has the encomium of her friends, neighbors and relatives as a splendid woman and mother. The deep gap of sorrow left by her departure can never be filled. Those left to mourn her death are: Thomas, the husband; sons, Fred, Frank, Herbert and Robert; daughters, Luella and Ruth; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert Glostrick; four brothers, Edward, of Detroit, Frank, of Chicago, John, of Lyons, and James, of Ireland; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Loosemore, of Detroit; Mrs. Keith Fuller, of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Maggie Cleary, of Ireland; a nephew, Reverend Father Robert E. Rock, of Detroit. The burial took place at Mt. Olive cemetery where she rests beside her daughter, Nellie, who passed away 16 years ago.
