Grubb, 90, of 4073 E. Shore Drive, Stanton, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Metron of Greenville. He was born Jan. 3, 1915, the son of George and Mary Spangler Grubb, in VanWert, Ohio. On April 11, 1936, he married Marjorie M. Brown. Mr. Grubb was a longtime resident of the Stanton area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Grubb, on Aug. 14, 1979; two granddaughters, Angel Haling and Melissa Grubb; great-granddaughter, Holly Sowles; six brothers, Pat, Elgia, Hank, John, David, George Grubb; three sons-in-law, George Cavanaugh, Don Bristol Sr., Harold Sowles Sr. He is survived by his children, Carolyn Bristol of Greenville, Mary Lou Cavanaugh of Laingsburg, Jo Ann and Ronnie Bristol of Crystal, Martha Sowles of Greenville, Diann Bentley of Georgia, Melvin and Janet Grubb of Six Lakes; 29 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald “Doc” Grubb of Ohio. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan, with Pastor Kenneth Harger, of Shiloh Community Church, officiating. Interment is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial considerations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
