Hague, 70, of Ionia, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998. She was born April 28, 1928 in Easton Twp., the daughter of Thomas and Bertha (Jenson) Ross and was a lifelong Ionia County resident. She was a graduate of Ionia High School and was married to John C. Hague on May 9, 1948 in Ionia where she has lived since. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ionia, a former member of the Tuxes Class, worked with the church nursery and the Ionia Christian Service Center, a member of the A.B.W. and was a helper at the Ionia Commission on Aging. Helen was a special loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family and friends, and is survived by her husband of 50 years, John; two daughters, Marcia (Mark) Culp of Lake City, Debra (Pat) McLaughlin of Alma; one son, Dennis (Laura) Hague of Holland; five grandchildren, Christa (Steve) Post, Eric Culp, Marcie and Sarah Hague and Calvin McLaughlin; two great- grandchildren, Jeremy and Curtis Post; one sister, Pearl (Robert) McLeod of Ionia; two brothers, Howard (Ruth) Ross of Ionia and Robert (Virginia) Ross of FL; numerous nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Muriel Hague of Ionia. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Daniel Clark Hague, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ionia, Pastor James Bennett officiating and the interment will be in Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to either First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Ionia Co. Commission on Aging, envelopes will be available at the Cook Funeral Home or at the Church.
