Emil C. Hahn, 63, of 669 Rich street, a former Ionia businessman, died 
Thursday, December 4, at 6 p.m. at the Ionia County Memorial hospital after 
being admitted there only an hour earlier. He had been ill with a heart disease 
for the past 1 1/2 years.

He was born September 8, 1884, in Ionia and lived his entire life here. He 
worked in the car shops and for Builder's Supply company before entering the 
grocery business. He worked in several grocery stores for many years. He 
operated his own store at the corner of North Jackson and East Main streets for 
15 years until his retirement in March, 1952.

He was married to the former Mrs. Levantia Pearce, January 1, 1949.

Hahn was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran church.

Surviving besides the wife is a brother, Karl of Detroit.

Services will be held at the Boynton funeral home Sunday, at 3 p.m. The Rev. 
William W. Pixley will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot, Highland 
Park cemetery.
