Belding - Henry “Ab” Hamblin, 84, of Belding, passed away Thursday, March 14,
2002, at United Memorial Health Center, Greenville.  He was born Dec. 1, 1917,
in Gatliff, Ky., the son of George and Rebecca Siler Hamblin.

Ab was an avid guitar player whose style and quality of playing continues to
influence countless local musicians.  He enjoyed his lawn and garden, loved to
golf and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He will be greatly
missed by his family and friends.

He married Stella Pauline Hobbs on Feb. 27, 1940, in Williamsburg, Ky.  They
were blessed with 62 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Stella; son and daughter-in-law, Donald L. and
Sharon Hamblin of Belding; son-in-law, Frank Boyce of Virginia; four
grandchildren, Drs. Jodi and Robert Camp of Belmont, Donald J. and Rhonda
Hamblin of Belding, Greg Hamblin of Grand Rapids, Lori Boyce of Virginia; five
great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Iomogene and Farrell Henerger of
Orlando, Fla., Onita and Ike Carter of Valdosta, Ga., Kathern and Gene Tye of
Tucson, Ariz.  Ab was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Shirley
Boyce; seven sisters; six brothers.

Funeral and committal services for Ab will be Monday at 11 a.m. at
Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh
Community Church, officiating.  A luncheon will follow at the New Hope Church of
God, Belding.  Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. 
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial
contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice or New Hope Church of God.
