Excerpts from Portland Obituary

THOMAS D. HANLINE

Died Tuesday, June 23, 2026-age 84.
Born July 9, 1941 in Ionia & was a lifelong resident.
Worked for Harry Baily Construction,Karl Russnell Construction & William Morris 
Construction before starting his own masonry contracting business, serving Ionia 
and surrounding area for 35 years.
Tom retired age age of 63.
Tom enjoyed the outdoors, was a member of Ionia Long Rifles & the National Rifle 
Association. He was often in the woods or on the lake.
He was a active ember of First Christian Church of Ionia.
Preceded in death by his son, Tal D. Hanline, grandson, Casey T. Hanline & a 
sister, Beverly Shattuck. 
Survived by his wife, Norma Hanline; son, Kurt Hanline; Grandson, Seth Hanline, 
granddaughters Amy & Alysha; sister, Lori (George) Slater, who cared for her big 
brother.
Memorial services will be held at Noon Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at First 
Christian Church, 130 E.Washington St., Ionia,MI.
Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia,MI.
Family will received friends from, 11am until time of the service at 12pm.
For those who wish to honor Tom's memory, donations may be made to First 
Christian Church of Ionia.
