Haskins, 71, died unexpectedly from a heart condition Friday at Ionia County Memorial hospital. Born April 4, 1898, in Odessa township she was the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Brock Shupp and a lifelong resident of the area. She attended Lake Odessa high school. December 30, 1916, she was married to Lloyd Haskins. She was a member of the Blue Star Mothers, Lake Odessa Senior Citizens club and Jolly Dozen club. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jean French of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Joyce Waite of Alto; son, Gerald Haskins of Lake Odessa; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Winey and Mrs. Pearl Carter of Lake Odessa. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Rev. Howard Vugteveen will officiate and interment will be at Lakeside cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Rev. Mel Ferguson mission in Peru.
