Ionia June 3, unable to recuperate from an operation performed yesterday for a 
gallstones, Francis M. Hecox, eighty four, Civil war veteran, died today at 
Community Hospital.  He had resided here for thirty six years and had been a 
member of the Masonic fraternity for more than fifty years.  Funeral services 
will be held at the residence Wednesday at two o'clock with interment in Oak 
Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Hecox was born in Vergennes and is survived by the widow, a 
son, two brothers, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
