Mrs. Eathel M. Houghton, 75, of Lake Odessa, died Tuesday night in Provincial 
house in Hastings where she had been a patient the past six weeks following a 
long illness.  Born June 2, 1896, in Woodland township she was a daughter of 
Allen and Alice Van Aman King and married Forrest Houghton, April 17, 1917, 
who preceded her in death March 25, 1940.

She was a member of the Calvary United Brethren church and Womens’ Missionary 
association of the church.

Surviving are one son, Allen of Lake Odessa and a sister, Mrs. Dorr Layle of 
Lake Odessa.

The body is at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa where services will be at 
1:30 p.m. August 13, the Rev. Harold Greene officiating.  Burial will be in 
Lakeside cemetery.
