Excerpts from Greenville Obituary

DEAN HYDE

Died August 6, 2029-age 87 of Saranac.
Born April 23, 1939, in St.Johns, son of Merle & Norma (Zoss) Hyde.
Dean began his service while in High School as a state officer of the Michigan 
FFA while also playing basketball, baseball, & football at Carson City High 
School, where he graduated in 1957.
He then attended Michigan State University where he received a degree in 
Agribusiness.
He married Jean A.Hummel September 20, 1959, in Carson City.
He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965 as a Military policeman in Munich, 
Germany.
He coached Little League Baseball for 9 years & played on different slow pitch 
teams over the years.
Dean served  on the Lakewood School Board for 8 years & on the Pennock Hospital 
Board, National Agriculture Retailers Association Board, Union Bank Board & 
Ionia County Advisory Board.
Dean was well-know in seeveral areas for his expertise in agriculture business. 
He retired from Michigan Agriculture Commodities in 2010 & soon started his own 
mowing business which helped keeping his grandson's busy.
Survied by his wife of almost 67 years, Jean A Hyde of Saranac, children, Deena 
(John) James of Ada, Darla Hyde (Anthony Burroughs) Of North Carolina and Darrin 
(Trina) Hyde of Clarksville, Grandson's, Jake (Alayna) Thole, Gerrit Klein, 
Hunter Hyde, Cooper James, Lane Thole, Justin James, Jeremy James, Dalton Hyde 
and Easton Hyde, sister, Kathy Miller of Dimondale, several nieces 
& nephews
Preceded in death by his parents & his brothers, Richard, Phillip, Gilbert, Gary 
& Ronald.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation at Pathway Ebenezer Center, 4960 Portland Road, Saranac on Sunday, 
August 9th, from 2-4 p.m.
