Jerry Lee Jenks, 75, of Grattan, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 18, 2006, in
Grand Rapids.  Jerry was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Grattan Township, the son of Glen
and Mary Newland Jenks.

Jerry graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1951 and served in
the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War.  Jerry was a
member of the American Legion Post 203 of Belding, the Belding Sportsmen’s Club
and the Eagles of Greenville.  He enjoyed golf and was an avid hunter and
fisherman.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He was married
on Nov. 8, 1958, at St. Patrick Church in Parnell to Margot Carey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ann Moran.  Jerry is
survived by his wife, Margot; their son, John “Nick” Jenks of Grattan; two
granddaughters, Dominique Lee Jenks, Tana Elizabeth Jenks; his brother and
sister-in-law, Walt and Geraldine Jenks of Grattan; and a brother-in-law, Jim
Moran of Charlotte.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Min Zhu of the
Neuro-Science Department at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand
Rapids and thanks to the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit Fifth Floor of the
Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids.

Funeral services are noon Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding,
with Father Fred Brucker officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick
Cemetery, Parnell.  Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the
funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart
Association or a charity of one’s choice.
