Excerpts from Grand Rapids Obituary

SUSAN OCENE JOHNSTON

Died December 16, 1939-age75.
Services were held Monday at Ionia, who died at her daughter's (Mrs. Ray 
Rathburn) home in Ionia on Saturday.
Mrs. Johnston was born in Jackson & married to William R.Johnston in 1884, He 
died in 1928.
Surviving are her children: John of Hope, Ida., Mrs.Anna Jewell of Blanchard, 
George, Gerald & Mrs.Rathburn , all of Ionia; two brothers, Appolas Lincoln of 
Marquertte, and Charles Lincoln of Padma. 18 grandchildren and 8 great-
grandchildren.
