Daily Standard - Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1908

William Knowles, age 80, passed away at about the noon hour today, at the home 
on Lincoln avenue, resultant upon the stroke of paralysis on Tuesday of last 
week. Deceased was one of the pioneer carpenters and builders of Ionia, and was 
one of the very few remaining ones of his day. He leaves a wife and two 
children, Fred, of Chicago, who is here, and Alice, wife of Lee Gibbs of South 
Dakota. Funeral arrangements not  yet made.
